The picture of the 13th Doctor on the cover of the second 5th Doctor annual (the 1985 one I think) seems to have gone down well on the Twitter. Well, Clayton Hickman got vibes from it at least.
I had thought I'd deleted the original version but on looking found that I hadn't.
It's actually composed of a shot of Jodie from the SDCC Fashion Show she gatecrashed combined with a similar shot to the one used on the original annual - one of the 5th Doctor, Tegan and Turlough in the TARDIS control room from Terminus. Jodie is hiding the Doctor whilst the companions have been removed and (crudely) replaced with cloned roundels from other parts of the picture. I've also had to add costume elements to Jodie as she wasn't in full costume.
It's all a bit rough and ready. There's no texture on her culottes. The pic wasn't meant to be seen in its entirety as part of the annual cover.
But here it is... together with a version of it tarted up to look like an issue of Doctor Who Weekly.
JODIE WHITTAKER IS THE NEW DOCTOR WHO!!!

Jodie Whittaker on Old Doctor Who annuals
Well, the new trailer for the Doctor Who new series has debuted at SDCC and on line... and well, it looks good doesn't it?
Fired by the freshness and enthusiasm of the thirty second clip show, I've gone back and re-purposed some of the old familiar Doctor Who annuals of old. (including the 1978 one which I've struggled with over the years, trying to find some way of doing it justice.) All this despite the fact there's still only around six or seven official pictures of Jodie Whittaker and the cast to play around with...
I hope you like them.

Doctor Who Monsters in their Natural Habitats!
I did a few pics last year of War Machines and Chumblies out in the wild. I've been doing some more and these are they...
A troop of melkur bask in a jungle clearing in the equatorial region of Melkurus.
Wild quarks stalk the volcanic plains of the planet Dominatus.
The alien voord wander through the idyllic bluebell forests of the second continent of Marinus.
Abandoned special weapons Daleks live peacefully at a charity-funded sanctuary in Dorset.
Repurposed Mechonoids have been running Milton Keynes railway station since 2015. The trains still do not run on time...
The ogron breeding programme at Paignton Zoo was started in 1986 and is responsible for releasing over 200 back into the wild.

An Important Message!
Hello there.
I don't usually write lengthy written posts like what other blogs do. I usually let my designs do all the talking. But, if you don't mind, I've a little request of you...
I’ve often in the past fudged the query of why I don’t do prints of my work. The simple and honest answer is I can’t afford to. I’m a full-time carer so both time and money is at a premium for me. I came up with a compromise a year or so ago, to print some postcards up of my more popular designs. I scrimped and saved and did some. Not many. But they were popular enough to do a few more.
Some of you will have noticed that I recently set up a Ko-fi account.
"What’s a Ko-fi account?" I hear you ask?
Well, it’s a opportunity for all you lovely people to buy me an imaginary coffee as a way of showing your appreciation of my work. In truth, the Ko-Fi website allows you to pay me the sum of £3 - a generous amount for a really nice cup of coffee. Some very nice folk have already bought me some which is probably the reason I'm still awake at this time of night typing this. Thank you to them.
Now I can’t promise to buy coffee with all the three pounds I'm bound to be deluged with(!) but it will go some way towards adding to the funds I require to build up a stock of postcards of my work to take to conventions and fan meetings. Fifty cups of coffee will allow me to make £150 which will (roughly) give me 10 designs. I think that’s reasonable.
I don’t have a business plan as such. This is a hobby designed to pay for itself and allow me to share my sense of the absurd with other like-minded misfits.
You’ve probably been to this blog a few times in the past. Thank you for that. Now take a ten minute break from whatever you are doing and have a look at some of my past posts. The ones you may have missed. There's been well over 400 posts over the past four years. The best way to do this is to put the term “Fake Merchandise” in the search box on the top left and hope for the best. Take a look at the stuff that comes up.
WOTAN carriage clocks, William Hartnell baby dolls, After Henry Pasta Shapes, Princess Diana Star Trek figures, dozens of Chumbleys and loads of other demented tat.
That’s all got to be worth the price of a cup of coffee.
Here's the link to my Ko-fi account.
Thank you. x.
PS - Don't worry. I will be carrying on doing all the silly stuff on here time permitting. I've some updates to upload over the weekend.
PPS - Also, if you don't want to help me out, that's okay. Just enjoy the stuff I do. I enjoy doing it. It gives me a break from my carer's duties and is good therapy too. The fact you are here reading this, is reward enough. Thanks again.
PPPS - The temptation to humourously title this post "A Important Massage" was almost too overwhelming... I need to get a grip sometimes.

That Doctor Who Calendar 2019 - continued...
Well, as is always the case, I got carried away and did the rest of the calendar.
Had to get it out of my system...
The rest of the calendar is here.

That Doctor Who Calendar 2019...
There's some images going round at the moment apparently taken from the officially licenced Doctor Who calendar.
One shows a cover featuring the last four Doctors - Christopher Eccleston, David Tennant, Matt Smith and Peter Capaldi - but no Jodie Whittaker (despite her debuting last Christmas and being the incumbent Doctor for the duration of the said calendar's use).
The other shows an image for January (possibly from a different calendar featuring ALL of the Doctors) showing an odd image of the first Doctor together with that peculiar hybrid Cyberman from a 1970 photoshoot for the Radio Times.
I'm normally not a person to go off on one... but...
...they are pretty shit.
The Jodie Whittaker omission feels like a Justice League product that doesn't mention Wonder Woman. Whilst the inclusion of THAT Cyberman as part of a first Doctor design is just plain shoddy.
I've done my best. I've knocked these up pretty quick with some available cut-outs I already had on the mac and using similar design elements as the actual calendars. They didn't take me too long and I've kept them simple.
But, though I say so myself, they are 100% more in keeping with the series and the efforts to create a quality product that Doctor Who fans will want to buy as opposed to 'will' buy just to keep the collection complete.
06.07.2018 - Added some later Doctor designs.
