And in quick succession, here are six more issues of Whovians in Love from the archives. 

Put the productivity down to therapy and a long Bank Holiday weekend worrying (needlessly?) about Whooverville 8 which is - at the time of writing - less than a week away. 

I hope to meet some of this blog's followers at the event so do say hello. I'm the bemused looking middle-aged bloke who may or may not have a beard. I haven't decided yet...

A Selection of Sweet Cigarettes...

There was a time when very TV series had a packet of sweet cigarettes named after them. 

And just like real cigarettes, you had to keep buying further packets. In their case, it was to complete your collection of FREE PICTURES CARDS - usually about 50 to collect. 

You can still buy them today only they are called candy sticks and no longer contain free cards. So sad.

I find it very difficult to sustain a running gag but my Whovians in Love posts on Twitter seem to be getting more and more popular as I post them. I've done about 20 so far and here are six more...

Someone put a fake eBay listing up for episode one of the missing Doctor Who adventure 'The Savages' last week. At the risk of sounding arrogant, it didn't fool me and just looked a bit like a desperate cry for help and attention. Some dreadful photoshopping - worthy of my early efforts on this blog - coupled with the usual vague details of provenance one associates with this sort of 'wheeze'. 

Fake!

Sadly, a small number of fans were taken in by the scam. Even more sadly, a large number were also 'up-in-arms' about it despite seeing through the attempted deception meaning the perpetrator gained even more publicity oxygen. 

My attempt to create a missing episode fragment is to the right... IT IS A FAKE! 

Anyhow, my usual absurd view of the world was applied to the sorry situation and, at the risk of giving him more net-time, I came up with this rather angry issue of Whovians in Love.

Doctor Who VHSs are back! Live the dream..!!!

Back in the 80s, there was something wonderfully hi-tec and modern about having row upon row of chunky plastic videotape boxes weighing down shelves that were really meant for the odd china ornament or decorative ashtray. You could read their spines from your armchair without having to get up and put put your reading glasses on.

Now you can do it all over again with the purely decorative Doctor Who video boxes based on the current series. 

All you need is an extra room to house the complete collection! 

Every episode from Rose to Hell Bent. Complete and nostalgically bulky...
